Project goal and objectives
  • To develop HIV/AIDS secondary prevention programme and establish mobile unit;
  • To improve accessibility to HIV prevention and care among injecting drug users and people at risk by providing specialist consultations;
  • Ensure harm reduction services (Needle and syringe program, condoms, consultations, outreach, targeted information).
Results Developed HIV/AIDS secondary prevention programme and approved by the municipality officials.
Provision of the mobile unit in Daugavpils during the project:
  • purchased one bus (planned 1);
  • recruited 3 employees (planned 3);
  • workload of the mobile unit  - 3 543 hours (planned 3 600 h).
Number of distributed syringes at the beginning of project 0, at the end - 11 323 (planned 10 000).
Number of distributed condoms at the beginning of project 0, at the end - 1 440 (planned 1 000).
Number of performed HIV tests at the beginning of project 0, at the end - 50 (planned 500).
Number of clients involved in activities at the beginning of project 0, at the end -   1 721 (planned 11 500).
Number of performed consultations at the beginning of project 0, at the end - 400 hours (planned 400). 7 publications published in the media and one video in the local TV news.
