"Implementation of Methadone Maintenance Programme in Olaine District"

Project goal and objectives The main goal of the project is to implement methadone maintenance programme in Olaine district and to decrease HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C prevalence among youth.
Results
  • Methadone cabinet is established and equipped (57 Zemgales str., Olaine).
  • During the project 4 patients have received methadone maintenance therapy (MMT) - everyone had access to drug addiction specialist, psychologist and social worker.
  • Staff of MMT cabinet have participated in trainings and seminars organized by UNODC and other institutions.
  • Regularly assessed clients' treatment progress and methadone doses.
