Training on HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing

In the second quarter of 2010 UNODC Project Office for the Baltic States is organizing training "HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing" in 4 Lithuanian regions. On the 20 th and 27 th of April the training took place in Vilnius, on the 4 th of May in Kaunas, and on the 12 th of May in Klaipėda. One more seminar is scheduled for June in Šiauliai.

The main goal of the training is to provide knowledge and skills on the pre- and post- HIV testing counselling as well as on antiretroviral therapy. Trainings are attended by the specialists from centres for addictive disorders, mental health centres, low-threshold cabinets, prisons, laboratories, NGO's and others interested in HIV testing and counselling. The seminars are conducted by Vilnius Centre Polyclinics doctor Vilma Uždavinienė.

The trainings are organized within a framework of UNODC project "HIV/AIDS prevention and care among injecting drug users and in prison settings in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia". During the training participants receive the information material "HIV Voluntary Counselling and Testing" and "Motivational interviewing of Injecting drug users".
