US experts trained Kyrgyz law enforcement investigators to better counter drug trafficking

April 11-22, 2016. Bishkek.  Experts of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) shared best practices in the investigation and management of drug cases with their counterparts from Kyrgyzstan's State Service on Drug Control, Customs, National committee on State Security and the State Penitentiary Service. 

The training aimed to improve the knowledge of Kyrgyz law enforcement officers in the investigation of drug-related crimes and strengthen their capacity in the field of countering drug trafficking. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Ruslan Altybaev , Deputy Chairman of the State Service on Drug Control of the Kyrgyz Republic stressed the importance of the training in gaining new skills and experience as well as having an opportunity to build stronger relationship between participating agencies.

The training was organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) jointly with the US Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic.
