Crime prevention is a key priority for UNODC support to Central Asian countries. Within the framework of its Programme for Central Asia 2015-2019, UNODC supports the implementation of evidence-based crime prevention strategies, in particular at the community level.
A series of exchange visits was organized in August 20 16 by the UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia for the officials from Port Control Units of Azerbaijan and Tajikistan to Georgia within the framework of the UNODC-WCO Global Container Control Programme.
In August 2016, UNODC Regional Office for Central Asia organized a study visit for officials from the State Customs Service under the Government of Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Poland. The objective was to familiarize recently trained Kyrgyz officers with the methodologies applied by experienced risk profiling units in the European Union.
