Bangkok (Thailand), 14 April 2011
Across the world, an estimated 2.5 million men, women, and children are trapped in slave-like conditions. Through sexual exploitation, forced labour, domestic servitude and child begging, people in all corners of the globe are held against their will through this horrific crime. A staggering 1.4 million victims, or 56 per cent of the estimated global number, are in Asia and the Pacific.
