New BLOs in Cambodia - Viet Nam
Kampong Cham (Cambodia), 28 November 2011 - As part of their second national meeting, members of the PATROL Project Advisory Committee visited the newly established Border Liaison Office (BLO) at the checkpoint in Trapeang Phlong between Cambodia and Vietnam. This BLO is the first one in the region to have a general mandate on countering Transnational Organized Crime, beyond the area of drug trafficking.
On 20 November, the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) hosted the ceremony for the official handover of the equipment that UNODC donated to two new BLOs at the border with Vietnam and to the Project Advisory Committee in Phnom Penh.
