25 June 2007, a
Recovery Night titled
"Celebrating the Spirit of Recovery" is being organised at the Chinmaya Auditorium, Lodi Road, from 5.00 - 7.30 pm. UNODC is holding this event in partnership with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The event will salute the resolute human spirit in fighting drug use and its consequences, and showcase people in recovery who have overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. The event will be addressed by the Honourable Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, and the Chief Guest for the evening will be the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Along with testimonials and performances by people in recovery, the evening will consist of cultural performances by young children of the NGO Salaam Baalak Trust, artists of the pantomime group 'Jaagran', and musical performances by the group 'Artists Unlimited' and the band 'Aryans'

As part of the activities in relation to the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Drug Trafficking, a special event is being organized on the evening of 25 June 2007 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Chinmaya Auditorium, Lodi Road, New Delhi. The theme of this evening is 'Celebrating the Spirit of Recovery', and through a series of performances during the evening, tribute will be paid to the courage of those individuals who have overcome challenges and adversity and traveled the road of recovery.
It is with great pleasure that the Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, cordially invite you to be a part of this evening and join us in celebrating the spirit of recovery and in pledging towards a drug free society.
