Commonwealth Asia Regional Workshop on Drug/Substance Use Prevention among Youth in Male, Maldives from 7th to 11th May 2008
The Commonwealth Youth Programme (CYP) Asia Centre and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Government of Maldives in partnership with the UNODC, ROSA is organizing Commonwealth Asia Regional Workshop on Drug/Substance Use Prevention among Youth in Male, Maldives from 7th to 11th May 2008.
The objectives of the workshop are to:
Provide a regional platform for the youth to share information about best practices and learn from each other.
Enhance the knowledge and understanding of the participants about various dimensions of the problem of drug/substance use and their skills to cope with the problem.
Contribute to the creation of opportunities for young people, affected by drugs/substance use to enhance their social and economic well-being and their capacity to lead healthy lives.
Strengthen coordination among government and non-governmental stakeholders towards an effective strategy for prevention, treatment and care.
Prepare action plans for drug/substance use prevention, treatment and care.
