Representative, United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for South Asia, Mr. Gary Lewis on Sunday called on health adviser Major General (retd) Dr ASM Matiur Rahman at his secretariat office here.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on drug crimes, HIV/AIDS and drug trafficking in South Asia.

The adviser welcomed the proposal of the UNODC director to introduce correction programmes for women and imprisoned drug addicts in Bangladesh.

Country coordinator of UNAIDS Dan Odallo, UNODC's adviser on HIV in Dhaka office Dr M Mozammel Huq and Dr Tasnim Azim of ICDDR,B were present on the occasion.
