ALKA ARYA
Lotus Notes Developer, ITS Team
Alka Arya has joined UNODC ROSA as a Lotus Notes Developer in the ITS, ProFi team. She has Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from Board of Technical Education, Delhi Administration and Bachelors in Computer Application (B.C.A.) from IGNOU.
Alka specializes in Lotus Notes Development and IBM Mainframe Server Administration. In her 8 years of work experience she has worked with IBM Global Services and DENSO Haryana Pvt. Ltd, where she has designed and implemented various workflow applications.
Alka enjoys watching comedy movies and spending time with her 3-year-old daughter.

ANAMIKA SRIVASTAVA
Administrative & Finance Assistant GLO/R32 - Human Trafficking
Anamika worked with the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) which is a UN-privileged research and development organization. In this context, she worked in project finance for more than two years, being independently responsible for the externally-funded projects supported by national donors like Department of Biotechnology, ICMR, CSIR etc and international donors such as the WHO, European Commission, Malaria Vaccine Initiative etc. Anamika has also worked in multinational companies like Sony India Ltd., in the accounts and finance department and was responsible for fund management and finalization of accounts. Anamika holds a Commerce Honors graduate from Delhi University and a Masters in Financial Management from Kurukshetra University. In her spare time she likes listening to light music and painting.

Anupama has joined UNODC ROSA as an Office Assistant in the Administration and Front Office teams. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and is presently pursuing her Master's in the same subject from IGNOU.
Anupama brings with her experience of having previously worked with the administration departments of two UN agencies, UNDP and UNICEF.
Anupama loves to surf the net in her spare time. She is also fond of solving puzzles, reading and playing table tennis.

Admin & Finance Assistant
RAS/H60 - Precursor Control in South and South West Asia
Arti joined UNODC ROSA in July 2006 and works as Admin and Finance Assistant for project RAS/H60 (precursor control). Prior to this assignment she was working as an Administrative Assistant with one of the World Health Organization's Polio Project field units based in Gurgaon near to Delhi where she served for three and a half years. She also has experience of working in the telecommunications industry. Arti is a Graduate in Commerce with a Diploma in Secretarial Practice and is currently pursuing her postgraduate degree in human resources from the Institute of Management Technology. |

Born in December 1980, Aruna is a graduate in humanities from University of Delhi and has done a Diploma course from the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT). Adept at power point presentations, Aruna is very familiar with Microsoft Office systems. She is very good in making the Power-point presentation. She has been associated with the UN System for the past four years she has developed a sound knowledge in data analysis (SPSS) especially with regard to the Knowledge Attitude and Practice Analysis. She has most recently rendered assistance in developing the Prison Toolkit.

A Fulbright scholar, Ashita has a postgraduate degree in Social Work from Delhi University and has experience of working in the UN system for over 15 years. She possesses extensive professional experience in handling and monitoring programmes relating to drugs and HIV. She is serving as the Senior National Programme Officer at ROSA and has special interests in gender-related issues and has served as ROSA's focal point on gender, HIV/AIDS and health. Known for possessing good communication skills, she has also been involved in various initiatives at the grass-roots levels. |

BIDISHA PILLAI
Project Officer IND/G86 - Drugs & HIV
Bidisha has nearly ten years of experience in communications, campaigns, advocacy and programme coordination, both in the development as well as in the banking and financial services sector. She started her career in the corporate world, specializing in high-value customer relationship and portfolio management, but says she soon gave it up to follow her heart to work with disadvantaged children and women. In the development sector, she has worked on a range of issues including child rights, prevention of child labour, education, gender equity, violence against women and trafficking. More recently she has specialized on food and nutrition security and information and communication technologies in development, which she believes has given her a broad perspective of developmental challenges and the need to address them in an integrated manner. Immediately prior to joining UNODC, she was working with FAO to develop and manage an online Community of Practice on Food and Nutrition Security. Bidisha holds a Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Annamalai and a Diploma in Advertising from the Birla Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences. |

CHAND KAUSHIL
Team Leader, Global Field Office Support, Information Technology Service
Chand holds a MBA degree from IMI, New Delhi and certifications from Microsoft, Lotus and Cisco. He Joined UNODC in 1998 and initially supported the IT setup in ROSA office. In 2001 he moved to the main ITS team and was responsible for supporting ITS operations in the 8 field offices of UNODC in the Asia region. In 2004 he was promoted to handle Global Support. He is now Team Leader for Global Field Office Support. In this capacity, he is managing the IT establishment for all 22 field offices of UNODC. Chand has actively participated in the design and implementation of various financial and administrative software solutions for the UNODC field offices. He has also participated as a trainer in worldwide ProFi training. Chand is fond of traveling and swimming.

DEEPIKA NARUKA
Research Analyst
Deepika has a Bachelor's degree in International Relations and earned her Masters in International Conflict Analysis, with distinction, from the University of Kent, UK. She has over five years of experience working with various organizations in India, Switzerland and Croatia, including the UN Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR), Women in Security, Conflict Management and Peace (WISCOMP, an initiative of the Dalai Lama Foundation), and with the office of the UN Rapporteur on the Right to Housing. She has also worked with SARI/Equity, a USAID-supported project on safe migration, anti-human trafficking and violence against women issues, where, for two years, she handled the regional fellowships and knowledge management components of the program including the SARI/Equity website and publications. Prior to joining UNODC, Deepika served with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) as part of the Solution Exchange team working on Poverty, Work and Employment issues. |

GEETA SEKHON
Project Coordinator, IND/S16
(Human Trafficking)
Dr. Geeta Sekhon has joined the UNODC Project S16 team as a Consultant. Dr. Sekhon completed her LL.B. in 1991 and thereupon joined the Judge Advocate General's Branch (JAG) in the Indian Navy in 1992 as a Short Service Commission Officer. Upon release from Indian Navy at the rank of Lieutenant, she embarked upon a teaching career in law. She taught in Bombay and Delhi. She says that for her academics and teaching was a conscious choice because of her passion for teaching. She earned her Doctorate in Law in May 2007 (Topic:
Child Sexual Abuse and its Various Forms: a Comparative Study of the Law and Legal Procedures in India and Western Countries.) Of relevance to her current assignment with ROSA, trafficking in children for the purpose of prostitution was a small component of the research. She is an Executive Member of the South Asian Law Schools Forum for Human Rights Education (SALS Forum) which was formed in 2005. Previously she was also appointed as an India Expert in a European Union project - '
Developing a Legal Framework on Anti Human Trafficking in the South Asian Region' which is being monitored by the Terres de homes (Tdh) Consortium. |

A Masters in Political Science from Delhi University Harsheth is pursuing a Masters degree in International Relations at the University of Chicago on an International House Fellowship since 1997. She has a significant amount of experience working on a variety of developmental issues and in different capacities. She has been associated with UNODC ROSA since June 2004. Most recently she worked as Project Officer and is currently a Project Coordinator with the project RAS H13.

JAYADEV SARANGI
Prison Expert RAS/H71 - Drugs & HIV
Jayadev is currently Prison Expert at UNODC ROSA. He is a serving civil servant of Government of India on secondment to UNODC. He has been associated with prison systems and management for nearly two decades. He holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (thesis: "Factors Related to the Effectiveness of Correctional Organizations") and a Masters degree in Sociology from the Department of Sociology, Delhi School of Economics. Jayadev was the first UN Fellow on Prison Reforms in the year 1995 at the Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Branch in UN Vienna.

He is a self-learner and is keen to upgrade his skills on the issue of drug abuse and HIV/AIDS.

He received a Certificate of Appreciation from the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, India, in recognition of Outstanding Service in creating AIDS awareness by undertaking the AIDS Walk for Life in 2005.

Born in 1963, in Delhi, Jyoti has a doctorate in Social Work. Jyoti possesses 18 years of progressive experience as a programme manager, researcher and technical advisor and trainer in bilateral and multilateral funded HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health programmes She has worked in the area of drug demand reduction at the grassroots level in the early years of her career. She also has special expertise in project management, monitoring, evaluation and research, experience in leading multi-disciplinary professional teams, and in depth knowledge of the challenges of implementing projects for vulnerable and marginalized groups. Jyoti possesses skills in networking programme development, HIV/AIDS programming and proposal writing and has recognized skills in mainstreaming gender equity issues in project implementation.

A Graduate in Science from the University of Rajasthan, Kamal has been working with ROSA since February 1999. Additionally, he has a Diploma in Hospital Administration and System Engineering. Currently he is working with Project RAS/H71 as Admin and Finance Assistant. Known for his multi-tasking abilities and complete commitment to task, he has undertaken a variety of key initiatives which includes supporting office publications i.e. National Survey, Monographs, Intervention toolkits, and the South Asia Situation Assessment Report.

A postgraduate in Arts (Humanities) from the University of Delhi, Kunal has extensive experience in the field of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention. He has worked in various capacities in this field and has considerable insight into the drug HIV context of vulnerability in India. He specializes in training/capacity building skills, networking and resource mobilization, and has been involved in designing many IEC/BCC materials and need-based capacity building initiatives at the grass-roots level.

K RAGHAVAN
Project Officer, RAS/H60
He started his career with the Customs and Central Excise Department in 1982 after serving in the Southern Railway for five years. He has worked in the Narcotics Cell of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), Mumbai, the Narcotics Control Bureau in Chennai and possesses more than 20 years of experience in the detection and investigation of cases of drug trafficking. Mr. Raghavan has also interacted with the drug control agencies of other countries in detection and investigation of cases of drug trafficking abroad. He has received training, in the past, from the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
He is a guest faculty at various State Police Academies and the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics (NACEN) in South India including the National Police Academy, Hyderabad. Mr. Raghavan is a Commerce Graduate and is presently pursuing his degree in law. Raghavan says he enjoys listening to Carnatic music and can also play mridangam. |

Laetitia is from Shillong, Meghalaya. Laetitia is a graduate in English from St. Mary's College under the North Eastern Hill University, Meghalaya. She joined the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Project office (Northeast) in the year 2000. She has been working in administration and finance under various projects in the northeast. In five years with UNODC, she has received excellent exposure in the field of drug abuse and the larger ramifications of such abuse. She has extensive organizational and networking skills. She has been instrumental towards building linkages with project partners and this has strengthened the work in the northeastern region.

Sailo has done her postgraduate in Arts (Clinical Psychology) from the University of Delhi and then went on to do her M.Phil in Medical & Social Psychology from the Central Institute of Psychiatry, Ranchi. Sailo has an experience in the field of Drug Abuse, Gender and HIV/AIDS prevention. She has been providing technical backstopping for all activities related to technical capacity building of NGOs and CBOs for prevention of drug abuse and HIV amongst target groups in Mizoram. Sailo also has the expertise in programme planning, networking and resource mobilization. She has been involved in the National AIDS Control Programme and has worked extensively with the Government.

Born in 1972 in Shillong, Meghalaya. Mawii (pronounced "Moi") is a postgraduate in Arts (Sociology) from the North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU). She had worked for a number of years in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention with the Mizoram State AIDS control society and has considerable knowledge in the field of HIV prevention within the state. She has been involved in Training/ Capacity building and monitoring of NGO activities and has been involved in designing a need-based capacity building initiatives at the grass-root level.

Lipi is a graduate from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai, India, and is the recipient of the Vice President of India's Award for the Best Student in a Masters Program in Social Work where her specialization was in Criminology and Correctional Administration. Prior to this, while studying for her Postgraduate Degree in Psychology with Organizational Behaviour from University of Delhi, she acquired a combination of research experiences in the areas of corporate human resources, prison welfare and reforms. She has worked extensively at the grassroots level with various NGOs in interrelated areas of mental health, HIV/AIDS, human rights and crime; especially with IDUs and prisoners. Her experience with the corporate and social development sector has given Lipi hands-on experience of counseling, networking, training and program concept and content development for HIV/AIDS, as well as drugs and crime control programmes.

MARIE ERICKSON
Consultant
Over the last 3 years Ms. Erickson has lived, worked and travelled extensively in India and Sri Lanka, gaining experience in a broad range of development sectors. Currently Ms. Erickson is living in New Delhi and recently managed a multi-year anti-trafficking program in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh under a Human Liberties Initiative with Geneva Global Inc. While in Sri Lanka, Ms. Erickson managed health-related and anti-trafficking-related development projects in a joint USAID and Geneva Global Inc. initiative for post-tsunami civil society organizations. In 2004, Ms. Erickson worked with Financial Services Management Foundation in New Delhi, researching on effective strategies for monitoring and evaluation of development projects. In 2003, she worked as an intern at the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C, conducting research on international trade and its impact on development.
Ms. Erickson holds a Bachelors of Arts degree in Economics from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon and an MBA in International Economics from Eastern University in St. David's in the U.S. Ms. Erickson can read and understand Hindi and is currently taking Hindi launguage courses for advanced proficiency in the language.

A graduate in arts, Melika has been working with UNODC ROSA since March 2006. She started her career as a receptionist at the UNDP where she worked for over five years before moving on to UNICEF on a similar assignment. In her eight-year-long experience she has also worked with organizations like FAO and YWCA. Currently she is also providing additional support in office administration. Her hobbies include listening music, reading and playing badminton.

NANDITA BARUAH
GIFT Coordinator

Nandita has been working in the development sector for the past 18 years - and for seven of these years she was working on Anti-Human-Trafficking. She has a Master's degree from Delhi University and holds an MPhil in Political Economy from JNU. She started her career with the Indira Gandhi Memorial Trust as a Senior Research Associate in 1989. Since then she has worked with NGOs like CSR, Sakshi, Shakti Shalini, and the North East Network on issues relating to VAW, Child Rights, gender and sexuality and rural livelihood development. She was the Gender Advisor for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) India program and the Coordinator for the South Asia Gender Initiative during 1995-1999. Following that, she worked with UNIFEM as the Regional Coordinator for the South Asia Anti-Trafficking Program (1999-2005). She then completed an assignment with USAID as the Regional Advisor to the Anti- trafficking program (2005-2006). Finally, and most recently, she spent one year in the private sector working with Reliance Industries Ltd, as Associate Vice President, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Department for the Haryana SEZ project (Dec 2006 - Jan 2008).

NEIHA BANSAL

Ms. Bansal is an alumni of the Lady Sri Ram College, New Delhi and has done her Management in Media from the International Management Institute, IMI Delhi. She started her career as a playwright at the age of 19 with a play on AIDS. Thereafter she went on to write, direct, produce plays and script films on a varied number of subjects like the '1992 communal riots in Mumbai', 'prostitution' and 'globalization', 'Indian religious philosophy' etc. Soon she found herself at the studios of Balaji Telefilms in Mumbai, writing for their much-acclaimed daily soap opera, 'Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki'. After her management studies, Ms. Bansal started her formal career with advertising and worked as a creative copywriter with the leading advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson at New Delhi. Extending her understating of brands and marketing communication, she later joined The Indian Express Newspapers as the Assistant Manager for Business Development to take the newspaper in to newer markets. She is also a kathak dancer by vocation.

Nilima Agarwal is a Certified Lotus Professional (PCLP) and a Certified Lotus Instructor (CLI) in Lotus Notes Application Development and System Administration. She had been working as a freelance Lotus Notes consultant for four years, prior to joining UNODC as a Lotus Notes Developer. She has conducted numerous trainings on various topics in Domino and has also been actively developing applications on Lotus Notes. She has provided subject matter expertise for various books, CBTs, and Web-based training materials on Lotus Notes and has authored a few books on Lotus Notes. As part of the ProFi team, she has developed various important applications for the field offices of UNODC, including the Field office Staff Information, Field Office Management Ledger, and the Field Office Portal.

OLIVIER LERMET
HIV Advisor, Emergency Response to Nepal on HIV/AIDS
Mr. Lermet is a programme manager with more than 12 years international experience in leading health promotion and education programmes. He has worked throughout Europe and the Balkans, Latin America, South and Southeast Asia in various capacities, providing management and coordination support to national public health and education policy development processes. Mr. Lermet also brings 7 years' technical experience in collaborating with high-profile government groups and civil society on HIV/AIDS. He has been pioneering and advocating for communicable disease containment approaches (specifically HIV/AIDS, TB, Malaria), especially in reducing the harmful consequences of drug use in South and Southeast Asia, through the delivery of comprehensive and innovative packages of services for drug users, including Oral Substitution Treatment. Mr. Lermet holds an MBA, and is married to a Salvadorian doctor. Olivier's main hobbies are sport (football and tennis) and literature.

PINKY PRADHAN
Communication & Advocacy Officer
A native of Guwahati, Pinky holds a postgraduate degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the Indian Institute of Mass Communications in New Delhi. She has more than five years' professional experience and she specializes in development and marketing communication. She has worked with international and national organizations both in the development and private sector on issues which include CSR, media engagement, environment, health, micro-finance and livelihood. Her previous assignments have been with WWF-India, North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Project for Upland Area (a partner of International Fund for Agricultural Development and the Government of India) and Dmas Communications Pvt. Ltd. She has also interacted extensively with local communities in Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Manipur and Meghalaya.

A graduate in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, Pratik has over 16 years' experience of working mainly in the development sector with the Indian government. He has worked in various capacities within government departments, developing polices and guidelines for planning and implementation of national level programmes. He recently spent more than four years as the Deputy Director (IEC) in the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) where he was supervising national/state-level IEC activities, advocacy, targeted interventions, programmes for children and youth (including the School AIDS programme) rights issues and counseling.

POONAM BHAMBRI
Program Associate, UNODC ROSA
A Post-Graduate in Literature, Poonam has been working with the UN since 1987. She joined UNODC ROSA in 1989 and is currently the longest-serving staff member in the office. Poonam has been instrumental in carrying forward the programme delivery by liaising between ROSA and UNODC operations all across the North-East of India.

PUSHKAR SINGH
North East Coordinator, UNODC ROSA (Shillong-based)
Prior to joining UNODC, Dr. Singh was employed by the Indian Army, Ministry of Defense. He has served as Deputy Assistant Director Health, Military Regional Food and Factory Inspection Officer; Director, Regional Outbreak Investigation and Control Teams, Master Trainer HIV/AIDS for the armed forces and NCC Directorate.
Dr. Singh has also served as OIC for the implementation of prevention of drug abuse among armed forces personnel and their families. Dr Singh is a recognized teacher in biostatistics and epidemiology in Delhi University for the postgraduate training of dental officers in Army Hospital and R&R. He has been Associate Professor in PSM for Pune University for undergraduate and post graduate preventive and social medicine teaching programme. Among the various awards he has received are two Army Commander Commendation Medals for organizing relief operations in flood-prone areas and extensive work in the community for spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS.
Pushkar's interests include mountaineering and river rafting. He was the first Indian to successfully raft down the Mandikini and Alaknanda (Ganges) rivers in 1979. He has also played squash for the Indian Armed Forces and is the winner of the National Plate Tournament (1978). He also practises Vipassana Meditation. |

Gunashekar commonly known as "Gunah" has over 15 years' experience of working mainly in the development sector in various capacities in national and international organizations. His experience includes managing innovative DFID-supported Truckers Project aimed at HIV prevention in two states from July 1995 to August 2002. Prior to his assignment with UNODC ROSA Guna was involved in launching and establishing a Network of private sector healthcare providers in Tamil Nadu with Gates' funding to improve access and quality of STI/HIV prevention services. He was awarded a Commonwealth Pofessional Fellowship for the year 2003-04 at International Family Health in London. The fellowship provided a structured and incremental programme for acquiring new knowledge and for developing strategic, managerial and technical skills in the areas of HIV/AIDS and sexual and reproductive health. Guna holds a Masters degree in Social Work.

Rajesh is a graduate in Information Technology and a certified professional of Microsoft and CISCO products. He has over Six years experience in maintaining and trouble-shooting hardware/software resources and providing help-desk service. Currently employed by ITS, Rajesh is responsible for providing IT support to UNODC ROSA. He has also worked with UNAIDS in a similar position.

Project Coordinator Project RAS/H60 Precursor Control in South and South West Asia
Rajiv has joined UNODC ROSA as the Project Coordinator for Project RAS H-60 which will be working on Precursor Control. He joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1975 and was allotted the Tamil Nadu cadre. He has served in assignments including as District Collector, Joint Secretary to various departments including Planning, Transport etc. He was Resident Commissioner of Tamil Nadu in Delhi and his tenures in the Government of India also included a 7-year stint in the Cabinet Secretariat, a two-year assignment as Civilian Advisor to the IPKF (Indian Peace Keeping Force) in Sri Lanka (Jaffna) administering 7 districts, including the conduct of elections, in war time. He has also worked in the Ministry of Defence. Prior to his assignment with UNODC ROSA he was the Deputy Director-General in the Narcotics Control Bureau where he looked after policy and planning, coordination and enforcement functions. Policy initiatives by Mr Walia in the NCB were primarily aimed at demand and supply control strategies. His coordination duties included interaction with national and state drug law enforcement agencies as well as participating in bilateral and multilateral dialogue and representing India at international forums. Enforcement-related functions included monitoring the implementation of the precursor control regime, measures to prevent illicit drug trafficking, equipping the organization to deal with new threats like online pharmacies, synthetic drugs etc.In his spare time, Rajiv enjoys traveling and Himalayan trekking. He maintains a keen interest in cricket, tennis and golf. |

Administrative & Finance Assistant (Aizwal Office) RAS/H14 - HIV and young women
Robert is a postgraduate in Economics from the North East Hill University, Mizoram. He has extensive experience in the field of Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention. He has also worked in various capacities in this field and has considerable insight into the gender dimension of Drugs and HIV related vulnerabilities. Robert specializes in financial monitoring and reporting of project activities preparing yearly project funding request for all activities under the project, documentation, training and advocacy at the grass-root level.

RUMPA SAHA
Technical Writer/Software Quality team member - ITS Team
Rumpa joins us as a Technical Writer/Software Quality team member with ITS. In this capacity she will be responsible for technical writing and software testing, mainly for Field Office applications. Rumpa completed her Bachelor of Science degree from Kolkata University. Prior to joining UNODC, Rumpa was working in the Delhi Branch of the HSBC bank, with varied experience, spanning a period of almost 5 years. Rumpa was also associated with technical writing and preparation of process notes for MIS usage of performance parameters for Pan-India operations of the division. Apart from this she also actively worked in Srijan Sahaitya, Kolkata as Editor of Science Text Book. In her spare time, Rumpa says she enjoys reading books and listening to soft music.

A graduate in humanities from the University of Delhi, Savita has been working with UNODC ROSA since November 1999. Effective with her interpersonal skills, she is currently working as Project Assistant with Project H13. Savita possesses good organizational skills in the areas of event management.

SAMUEL LALZARLAWMA SAILO
Training Consultant with UNODC, CHARCA in Aizawl, Mizoram
Mr. Samuel Lalzarlawma Sailo is currently working as Training Consultant with UNODC, CHARCA in Aizawl, Mizoram. He has a post graduate degree in Social Work from Pune University and is also a National Eligibility Test (NET) holder under University Grants Commission (UGC). Mr. Samuel had worked as a lecturer for three years in the department of Social Work, Mizoram University and has also rendered his services extensively in the field of Drugs and HIV/AIDS. He has worked for five years with Sinners Friend which is a deaddiction cum rehabilitation centre as the centre Director and as Project Manager in Volunteers for Community Mental health (VOLCOMH) for three years. He has played a major role in implementing the Drugs and HIV/AIDS programme for female injecting drug users and also female sex workers in the state and has also helped in initiating the UNODC, CHARCA project.
Mr. Samuel is health conscious and enjoys working out in the gym and is an animal lover. In his spare time, he plays the guitar and loves to serenade his wife

Administrative & Finance Associate

A postgraduate in English Literature from the University of Delhi, Shveta joined UNODC ROSA in March 2004. She is currently working as Admin and Finance Associate with RAS/H13. During her tenure with UNODC ROSA she has contributed significantly in two important projects namely, RAS/938 and RAS/H13 especially in piloting the admin and finance initiatives. Shveta is fond of traveling.

Shyam has a Master's Degree in Computer Applications. He is also an experienced information systems professional specializing in the Microsoft Technologies. Shyam has extensive knowledge of relational database applications development using IBM, Microsoft and other technologies. Currently he is a Lotus Notes Developer in ProFi team of ITS. He has also worked with UNAIDS and WHO, and is involved in the developing and implementation of data disseminations strategies that include offline and online versions.

Born in 1969 in Ri Bhoi District of Meghalaya, Sona joined the UNODC Project Office in the capacity of a driver in March 2005. He is married with two children and has studied till grade VIII. Sona can speak five different languages including English, Hindi, Mizo, Nepali, Assamese and Nagamese. Sona has served as a driver for over 10 years.

Sonia joined UNODC as a Project Assistant for Project H13. Prior to this she was working with UNICEF in the Finance section. A post graduate in M.Com, Sonia also has a specialization in accounting and finance and is also pursuing MBA. Sonia has also worked with the Capital Bank in Punjab as a senior credit officer. As part of her work she was handling the appraisal and sanctioning of loans and proposals.
A meticulous person at work Sonia's hobbies include reading books, magazines and playing badminton.

Stella holds a Master's Degree in Public Administration. Her area of expertise is in the field of Finance and Administration. Stella has worked for several years with DANIDA in a similar capacity. Stella is systematic and relentless in her approach to problem solving. Stella brings to her current assignment as Treasury/Admin. Associate, ROSA, solid experiential qualifications in diverse settings in the areas of project budget planning, establishing internal financial and administrative procedures, establishing financial monitoring tools, implementing the project's accounting systems and processes.

Suruchi has a Doctorate in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Her doctoral work focused on the socio-cultural implications of sexual violence. With skills in qualitative research and participatory training methodologies, she has been a trainer on issues relating to drugs and HIV prevention, gender, sexuality and sexual violence in the South Asia region.

A postgraduate in Applied Psychology from Calcutta University, India. Susmita has extensive experience in Drug Abuse and HIV/AIDS prevention and has been associated with capacity building, monitoring and evaluation of NGOs working in this field. As a consultant psychologist she has provided counseling to clients with psychiatric and emotional problems. She has also been involved in preparing IEC materials and modules on Life Skill Education.

SWASTI RANA
Project Associate, Project IND/S16
Ms. Rana has worked on advocacy and research on human trafficking for the last four years. Prior to joining ROSA, she worked with the UNHCR (UN High Commissioner for Refugees) as a Resettlement Specialist in the Durable Solutions Unit. Her caseload primarily comprised of ethnic Afghans, Burmese and Palestinians fleeing Iraq. Prior to this Ms. Rana was working with Butterflies as a Senior Research Officer in their Advocacy and Research centre and with the Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative as a Research Officer in their Right to Information Programme.
Having secured the LSE-DFID scholarship for the year 2004-05, Ms. Rana undertook a Masters of Science in Human Rights (specialization in Child Rights) at the London School of Economics (LSE). Prior to this she had done her Masters in International Relations at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and had earlier graduated in Political Science (Hons.) from Hindu College. Since 2006, she has been pursuing French with the
Alliance Française in Delhi.

TANIA FERNANDO
National UNV (Sri Lanka), Project RAS/H13 - Drugs & HIV
Tania Fernando joined UNODC ROSA in July as a National UNV (Sri Lanka) on the RAS/H13 project. Prior to joining us, she was working as Project Manager with the Mithuru Mithuro Movement, a project partner of H13 and one of the largest Therapeutic Community based treatment facilities in Sri Lanka. She had earlier served as Programme Officer with the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Programme. Tania holds a BA (Hons.) from the University of Colombo and a Diploma in Drug Abuse Management. She has experience in working with the media with hands-on training in television, broadcasting, news production and has several ongoing programmes on National Television based on her experience of working with female drug users in prison settings.
