42nd Session of the Sub Commission on Illicit Traffic and Related Matters in the Near and Middle East - Agra, India, 3 - 7 December 2007
The Sub commission was established by resolution 6 (XXV) of the
Commission on Narcotic Drugs and by ECOSOC resolution 1776 (LIV). The functions of the Sub commission are to coordinate regional activities directed against illicit drug traffic and to formulate recommendations to the Commission. The Sub commission reports directly to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs and meets annually for a period of four days.
The members of the Sub commission are: Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan and Yemen. States from outside the region may attend as observers. Relevant intergovernmental organizations, as well as United Nations bodies, are also invited to attend the Sub commission's meetings.
