Training on Precursor Control for Law Enforcement Officers in Maldives - 24th to 25th March 2008

Project H60 in collaboration with National Narcotics Control Board, organized a An intensive 2- day training program on precursor chemical control from 24-25 March 2008 at Male, Maldives. In total there were 22 officials were officials from the Police, Customs, Port Authority, lab analysts and Defence (MNDF) participating in the training programme.

The Honourable Minister for Gender and Family Ms. Aishath Mohamed Didi inaugurated the program. Mr. Patrice Coeur- Bizot, Resident Representative, UNDP Maldives who was also present, addressed the participants.

The training also included a Computer Based Training module.

The participants gave a Computer Based Test in groups before the program and individual written tests at the close of the training. The scores obtained by them were indicative of their high level of understanding. They were divided into two working groups and after detailed discussions presented valuable inputs for strengthening interdiction at airports, seaports and the need for coordination among law enforcement agencies to curb drug/ precursor trafficking in the context of Maldives.
