UNODC is cosponsor of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS - UNAIDS
World AIDS Day, December 1, 2006
December 1 is commemorated the world over as World AIDS Day. The theme for World AIDS Day 2006 is accountability and the slogan is, "Stop AIDS. Keep the Promise".
UNODC is commemorating this important day as an expression of its determination to strengthen action and co-operation to achieve an international society free of drug abuse & HIV/AIDS. To mark this occasion a photography competition has been organized, the theme of which is 'Drugs & HIV/AIDS'. All UNODC partners are invited to participate in this event.
Criteria for submitting photographs for this competition is as following:
Only one entry per participant will be accepted.
Photographs should include a brief description of the photograph, such as details pertaining to date, location, photographer, context, etc.
All photographs should be submitted by the 21st of November, 2006.
All photographs must be accompanied by a completed consent form. It is the responsibility of the photographer to fill this form. No photograph will be admitted to the competition unless it is accompanied by a completed and legible consent form. As UNAIDS co-sponsor, we have used the UNAIDS photo consent form. A copy of the consent form along with guidelines for photographers are available on this website.
The size of each photograph should be 10"x 12" and the printing should be completed in matt finish.
Both print as well as electronic copies of photographs will be accepted. If you are submitting a print copy of a photograph, kindly forward it along with its negative to: UNODC ROSA, EP 16/17, Chandragupta Marg, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi - 110 021. India.
If you are sending an electronic copy, please ensure it has a minimum resolution of 200 dpi. Photographs may be submitted to either of the individuals named in (10) below.
Short listed photographs will be displayed on our website, as well as during an event organised by UNODC, ROSA on 1 December 2006.
A panel of judges comprising of representatives from different government, UN and civil society organizations will judge the photographs and the following prizes will be awarded:
First prize - Rs.50, 000
Second prize - Rs.30, 000
Third prize - Rs.20, 000
Consolation prizes (2) - Rs.10, 000
