Training the drug prevention among spouses of drug users package in Mashhad
Four-day Training of Trainers workshop on "Drug and HIV/AIDS prevention for drug abusers' spouses", was organized from 7th to 10th May 2012, in Khorasan Razavi Province. Forty experts participated in the workshop from State Welfare Organisation, Prisons Organisation, Municipality, Imam Khomeini Foundation and Anti-narcotics Coordination Council of Khorasan Razavi, South Khorasan, North Khorasan, Kerman and Sistan & Balouchistan provinces. This workshop assisted UNODC COIRA to enhance the capacity of drug use prevention programmes countrywide and moreover increase the knowledge, skills and confidence of Drug Demand Reduction staff for providing drug use prevention among drug abusers' spouses. Training of trainers on drug prevention among high risk students in Isfahan
Four-day Training of Trainers (TOT) workshops for schools' counselors on "Psycho-social strengthening programme for high risk students" was organized from 21 to 24 May 2012, in Isfahan province. 32 school counsellors from Isfahan, Shiraz, Qom, Charmahal and Bakhtiari, and Markazi participated in the workshop. The 32 school counsellors were also committed to conduct a training course for high-risk students in their respective provinces, based on the UNODC developed package in 2009. This workshop aimed at empowering school counsellors to provide life skills' training as well as preventive counselling with special focus on drug use prevention for the high-risk students. Training of Teachers on Strengthening Families Program in Tehran
Four-day training workshop on the subject of strengthening families program was held by UNODC FO Iran and DCHQ on January 29 - February 1, 2012 in conference hall of Prison Organization, department of education and training, Tehran. More than 30 teachers from different cities of Kermanshah, Northern Khorasan, Khorasan Razavi, Qom, Qavin, Lorestan, Khouzestan, Sistan & Balouchestan, Esfahan, Fars, Boushehr and Tehran took part in this workshop. At first, Mr. Antonino De Leo, representative, welcomed the participant; followed by Mr. Hamid Sarrami sited some remarks on workshop. Plus, Dr. Gelareh Mostashari, senior expert, drug demand reduction and coordinator of sub-programme 2 made a speech on introductions and expectations. Training NGOs Directors on Overdose Prevention and Treatment in Tehran
Two-day workshop on the subject of overdose prevention and treatment was held for NGO directors on May 29 & 30, 2013 in Institute for Productivity and Human Resource Development, Tehran. 24 NGO directors and in-charges took part in this workshop in which Dr. Rahimi, Dr. Nouri and Dr. Shadnia made speeches as facilitators. Moreover; Mr. Antonio Deleo, Resident Representative, UNODC Iran Country Office welcomed the participants; while Dr. Saberi Zafarghandi, DCHQ head took the introduction. Training of Trainers on Effective Community- Based Treatment for mphetamine Type Stimulants
Four-day workshop on the subject of Effective Community- Based Treatment for Amphetamine Type Stimulants was held by UNODC FO Iran and DCHQ on February 5-8, 2012 in INCAS (Iranian National Center for Addiction Studies). The participants were members of department of health, Medical School of University of Tehran, South Health Center, Eslamshahr Health Center, and a few were addiction and mental health experts from different Medical Schools, including Tehran, Alborz, Khorasan Razavi, Fars, Golestan provinces, made up a whole of 22 people. Briefing Sessions for Children Related NGOs on Training Life Skills Package to Street Children in Tehran
On November 12, 13, 28 and 29, 2012, two briefing sessions was held for Children Related NGOs in UNODC office in Tehran. The aim of holding such session was to describe life skills package written for street children for 29 related NGOs' directors and managers in order to come into a comprehensive and better knowledge of it. Lecturers in these briefing sessions were: Ms. Monireh Arezoumandi, Ms. Pajouhesh, Dr. Gelareh Mostashari, Dr. Katayoun Khoshabi, Ms. Delaram Ali, and Ms. Nersi.
