Criminal justice assessment tool on International Cooperation now available in Spanish

January 10, 2011 - UNODC has just launched the Spanish version of the Criminal Justice Assessment Tool on International Cooperation. The tool works as an evaluation module on the ability and willingness of a particular legal system to international cooperation, and helps States to identify the obstacles they may find when promoting such cooperation.

The assessment tool also refers to practical issues that have recently arisen in relation to the implementation of new international conventions, inter alia, the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime, which main purpose is precisely to facilitate international cooperation.

The publication aims at providing member states a practical tool for identifying any gaps in national legislation on international cooperation, regarding investigation and prosecution, as well as to promote Member States' ability to cooperate and to adopt administrative measures necessary to support different modalities of cooperation.
