Notice of Award for Civil Society Organizations

August 15th, 2012 - The Ministry of Health, through the Department of STD, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis, will award non-profit Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) which implemented projects with a focus on the control of STD/AIDS and viral hepatitis and on the construction of social responses to the epidemic of STD/HIV/ AIDS funded by the Department. It is eligible organizations that have implemented projects referred to the call for proposals 01/2011 and 02/2011.

The award, which is a joint initiative of the Department of STD, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis, the World Bank - IBRD, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - UNESCO and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime - UNODC, will be implemented through the project UNODC BRA/K57 that aimed to improve management, surveillance, prevention and control of STDs, AIDS and Viral Hepatitis among drug users, sex workers, prison population and people living with HIV/AIDS.

The purpose of the award is to recognize and encourage civil society organizations that managed the public resources transferred within the framework of the subprojects implemented in regional or national scope in an efficient and transparent manner.

The prize will be of 10% of the initial value of each project awarded and the result of the award will be available on www.aids.gov.br until five (5) working days after the analysis of  the projects.
