As a result of the impact of the Blue Heart campaign in Mexico and in order to continue informing and sensitizing Mexican society about trafficking in persons, Mr. Felipe De La Torre, Crime Prevention Expert and Coordinator of the Regional Project against Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants, was invited to participate in a TV program named "Expediente INACIPE", which focused on the crime of trafficking in persons, globally and in Mexico.
This TV show, coproduced by the Supreme Court's Office and the National Institute of Penal Sciences (INACIPE), is transmitted by the Judicial Channel, and offers to the viewer national issues focusing on the areas of criminal sciences.
During the interview, Mr. De La Torre explained the routes of trafficking in persons and some important factors to prevent this crime. As well, he provided the audience with statistics of trafficking in persons worldwide and spoke about UNODC Blue Heart campaign. He highlighted UNODC most recent publication: "The Globalization of Crime", which is available on the Internet and which provides updated information and statistics about organized crime.
"Expediente INACIPE" also included the participation of Ms. María Olga Noriega Sáenz, Professor-Researcher of INACIPE, who emphasized on Mexico's legislation against trafficking in persons and the conditions under which the crime takes place in our country.
The program will air on December 14th at 8:00 hrs, with two repetitions, on 14th from 22:00 to 23:00 hrs and on the 19th from 19:00 to 20:00 hrs.
