Outline And Objectives
The overall goal of this project is to enhance the capacity of Member States, particularly in post-conflict or transitional stages, to develop criminal justice systems in accordance with international standards and norms. The project aims at providing support to the Integrated Programming Unit to enhance cross-sectoral and inter-divisional programming and thus improving the coherence and focus of support provided to countries.
This is a shift away from an approach of designing and implementing smaller and potentially overlapping projects. It will provide resources for field based integrated programme development, for example, support to multi-disciplinary missions, project design and development, and the development of technical assistance programmes in countries where UNODC has not previously had a presence.
The project will design and implement programming in such a manner as to ensure that UNODC's comparative advantages within the UN system can be drawn upon.
