National Drug Control System

NDS Version 5.1 is installed in Costa Rica
UNODC�s enhanced NDS (National Database System) version 5 has gained official governmental acceptance during the user-group meeting in Canada from 10^th - 12^th March 2003. As a response to government's acceptance of the system and previously received request a mission to facilitate the upgrade from NDS 4.05 to NDS 5.1, customization of reports and training took place.

The staff of the competent authorities in Costa Rica received comprehensive hands-on training on utilizing the system, especially on the new features of NDS 5.1.

Costa Rica�s newly established Instituto Costarricense de Drogas (ICD) is still in the start up phase. The mission was successful in achieving a platform for computerizing the day-to-day work of the staff of the ICD.
