||Access Info Europe is a human rights organisation dedicated to promoting and protecting the right of access to information in Europe as a tool for defending civil liberties and human rights, for facilitating public participation in decision-making and for holding governments accountable. Under its strategic goal to use the right of access to information in order to advance other human rights, Access Info is actively engaged in using the right of access to information as a tool to combat corruption. It currently has two projects which promote the right of access to information and augment the international anti-corruption movement.
Access Info works with anti-corruption groups to monitor corruption-prone sectors and elements of governance such as the creation of and review of budgeting. Access Info is monitoring the right of access to information to request corruption-related information; both the information received and the transparency of the access to information framework are analysed and recommendations for law and process reforms are suggested. Its work on anti-corruption is therefore both based on the ground research and practical policy intervention.
