Short description:
Cewla concentrate its activities in Boulaq El Dakror which is considered very poor area in Giza.
It is one of the most active organizations in the filed of women human rights. On the national level, CEWLA is operating through its various units to raise the legal awareness and campaign on the equality of women in the various domains with an emphasis on the legal equity and the change of discriminative laws. It is spreading human rights concepts amongst grassroots communities, legal bodies and NGOs. CEWLA implemented a program for training and raising legal awareness in the period falling between 1997 and 2001. The target group of such program was NGOs personnel and the illiterate women beneficiaries of such NGOs.


At the international level , The Center has mrelations with Arab centers working on the domain and is networking on the issue of the CEDAW and to enhance the situation of Arab women versus the application of the international conventions on human rights.
