Short description:
CEIIAS, Centro de Estudos Integrados, Infância, Adolescência, Saúde is a civil and non-profit association, with a non-governmental organizational infrastructure, and multidisciplinary health, social and educational teams. CEIIAS has been working with projects in public and private schools, high-risk areas and poor communities, since 1996.
CEIIAS is located in Rio de Janeiro City, at Rua Barão de Lucena 32, Botafogo, 22260-020, Brazil and registered with the certificate number CNPJ 01777272-0001-65.
CEIIAS aims and objectives are:
? Promoting scientific, cultural and community events directed mainly to children, adolescents and families.
? Promoting training and interchange of professional expertise in partnership with other non-governmental organizations, public and private institutions for assistance and health and social services, national and international.
? Organizing and implementing courses, meetings and other training opportunities improving existing community resources and the betterment of high-risk communities.
? Promoting research and ethical work with children, adolescents, and families.
? Promoting and publishing books and other educational and training materials.
? Promoting of community health actions, prevention and intervention plans and activities in collaboration with other community agencies.
CEIIAS main projects:
? Roses Project - on HIV/AIDS prevention and health education for high-risk youth with Monterey County AIDS Foundation, 1996-1999.
? Saúde, Vida, Alegria (?Health, Life, Joy?) - Health Education Audio-Visual Materials and Training Kit for Health Professionals and Social Educators with W. K. Kellogg Foundation, 1996-1998.
? Nutritional Problems during Adolescence- Symposium and Training for Health Professionals on Nutrition, August 2, 1998, with sponsorship by Nestle.
? Violence and High Risk Situations during Adolescence - International Symposium with Estacio de Sá University and W.T.Grant Foundation, grant 2146, May 18, 2001.
? Nutritional Problems during Adolescence - Symposium and Training for Health Professionals, July 4, 2002 with sponsorhip by Nestle and Naturativa and Officilab.

? Lucia Abelha Lima, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Public Health and Epidemiology of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (NESC-UFRJ) and Director of Metaclínica, Clinical Psychiatrist and Researcher of the City Public Psychiatric Hospital.
