Short description:
Buddhism and Social Development Action (BSDA) supports the poorest amongst the poor, and focuses its efforts on reaching the truly impoverished (street children, orphans and vagabonds) and educating them on important life issues, violence prevention, and social and Buddhist morality in Cambodia. These educational programs are made available for both teenagers and adults. BSDA also cooperates with the government, Buddhist institutions - both local and international, and aid agencies to enhance access to non-formal education and social resources for the impoverished women and children through an "integrated community development program" in Cambodia. BSDA also provides assistance through the monastic community to orphans and street children including those living with HIV/AIDS when public social services are not available and when public education is not accessible or affordable.
