||The Institute for Peace & Conflict Resolution is a Think-Tank Policy Institute of Government established in 2000 to research into and proffer solutions to Conflict Issues in Nigeria particularly and globally as Nigeria is a member of the United Nations. Achievements of the Institute alongside various research works, papers and mediation efforts include the Strategic Conflict Analysis of Nigeria (SCA) between July-October 2002 as a response to the deep concerns of the Federal Government of Nigeria about the issues of conflict and the threat it poses to national existence and democracy as well as the proliferation of violent conflict in West Africa. The SCA was carried out in collaboration with a group of international donors 9DFID, UNDP, USAID & WORLD BANK)
An update of the SCA was carried out as well in December 2006.
The Institute also carries out sensitisation and enlightenment programmes in all the 6 geo-political zones of the country as well as have mediated in various internal conflicts between herders and pastoralists over land tussles, various border clashes and communal clashes and has made a lot of policy options to the government with regards to issues of conflict.
