||Iraqi Al-Mortaqa Foundation is a development independent and non-governmental foundation established in 2005, it is one of the Iraqi civil society organizations and registered in the ministry of state for civil society affairs and the Assistance Office in the general secretariat under No. 1B13914 on 13/8/2005:
Our Foundation consists of five departments; they are:
1. NGOs Dept.
2. Information Dept.
3. Small & Medium Projects Dept.
4. Education Dept.
5. Information Technology Dept.
Our foundation has a headquarters in Baghdad and branches in (Arbil, Kirkuk, Salahddin, Diyala, Anbar, Karbala and Basra), In addition to two offices in Jordan and Syria opened recently to help refugees in those countries.
Our Foundation aims at spreading the concepts of civil society and the role of its organizations in sustainable development, providing the youth with media skills to work in various media institutions, contributing to eliminating unemployment in Iraqi society through training them to establish various economic projects, benefiting from modern techniques and computer software in different activities, and finally interesting in the humanitarian aspect, self – building and individuals.
The Foundation since its establishing has prepared its training cadre in accordance with professional and world standards:
1. Preparing 25 trainers in NGOs field by (INTRAC).
2. Preparing 20 trainers in the field of entrepreneurs and unemployed rehabilitation under the supervision of (CEDI) supported technically by (UNIDO) in Amman.
3. Preparing 25 trainers in various aspects of media (TV, Radio, read and electronic) at Al-Jazeera Center for training and media development in Doha – Qatar.
4. Preparing 12 trainers in civil society field by the Arab civil network for NGOs in Amman – Jordan.
5. Preparing 11 leading activists in civil society affairs by National Democratic Institute (NDI).
Our Foundation believes in several principles, as the performance efficiency and best quality in providing services and serving Iraqi people wherever and whoever they are it also believes that sacrifices is an evitable tax in these conditions.
Our foundation is proud to say that it worked and still impartiality away from any orientation, authenticity, color, religion or sect, as well organizations regardless of their specialization (humanitarian, healthy, women, youth, economic, media, clan, relief, development training and educational).
Our Foundation works on developing the capacity of NGOs and individuals through various development programs build capacity and afford the skills to fulfill the current and future needs according to the world criteria.
And if we want to talk about our achievements, we will find that our foundation since establishing and yet (middle of 2009) has organized (684) courses and trained about (9410) trainees in different fields in cooperation to (449) NGOs, vocational associations and governmental institutions.
It is worth noting that most of our projects in the principle of partnership with many governmental institutions, professional unions and humanitarian bodies, such as (Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Ministry of Labor & Social Affairs, Ministry of Industry & Minerals, Unions of Physicians & Dentists, Union of Engineers & Teachers, and Iraqi Red Crescent Society), as well as some local and international organizations as (UNDP), (UNIFEM), (IR), (IRD), Mercy Corps and (PIN) and many other international organizations.
