||The organization is active in the field for the protection of the Human Rights and it offers voluntary legal, medical, educational, social and psychological support to vulnerable social population of whose rights are being abused and violated and who do not have contact with appropriate welfare services. The “Hellenic Action for Human Rights”, aims, amongst other things, to sensitize public opinion in order to stamp out discrimination, to elevate the arts as a means of bridging the gaps between different ethnic populations and to obliterate the phenomenon of xenophobia.
Legal activity (pro bono cases) have taken place (law suits, appeals, reports to authorities etc.) in advantage of e.g. prisoners, refugees, police violence and trafficking victims. A specific Prison Department has been set up within the organization since September 2010. The Department aims amongst others to improve the quality of life of the inmates e.g. through education, learning, psychological support and social aid, to support families / relatives of the inmates and to organize seminars for correctional officers in handling e.g. crises situations.
