ARTM is a local non-profit organization founded by Mr. Jose Perez Nacarro, ideologist and president of the project "Proyeto Hombre". He begun a progressive rehabilitation and social reintegration work and guided his experience and dedication to recover many drug users. He died in 1999. The cause of his death was due to HIV/AIDS which he contracted in the period of his dependency on drugs. Started as an informative center, giving prevention methods to those whom requires, earlier work of ARTM consisted primarily of prevention works (drug prevention speeches in schools, distribution of preventive leaflets, "say no to drugs" poster drawing competition in schools, seminars for parents, and prevention outreach to vulnerable groups.) |
