Short description:
Pemba Press Club (PPC) is a Non Governmental Media Organisation based in the Pemba Island, Zanzibar- Tanzania. This organisation, which brings together more than 60 journalists and media workers, was established in 2000 and officially registered by government registrar in 2002. In 2005 PPC also registered as a media association and given registration certificate No 2. PPCs vision is encourage sustainable development through freedom of expression and right to information. PPCs aim is to build strong journalists capable of influencing citizens to attain positive and sustainable development through informed decision. Most recent projects include: Women and Environment, Combating violence against women, HIV/AIDS and Campaign against TB.
