||With a commitment to promote human rights in general and the human rights of women and children in particular, ACD has been working with/for women, adolescent girls and children who are disadvantaged, marginalized and violence victims and whose lives remain suppressed under the traditional patriarchal societal system, unequally power relation, economic hardship, abuse and exploitation. ACD has promoted its efforts towards protecting human rights in democratic framework and developing an enabling environment, good governance, gender equity and social justice for women. Its activities and programmes are intervened in right based approach that is mainly dedicated towards empowering these disadvantaged groups, and developing a community care system in view of prevention and protection of human rights violations.
ACD also has particularly focused on gender based violence.
ACD has been working with the combination of preventive and protective efforts of community care system to uphold the protection of downtrodden women and children in the community. As immediate response, ACD has been providing institutional care and support services to the victims of sexual abuse, exploitation, trafficking, bonded labour or slavery like practices, domestic violence, acid burnt, tortured, children in conflict with laws, etc. for their social integration.
