Short description:
Innovative Development Initiative (IDI) adopted the following as its mission statement:
“To work towards empowering the poorest and most vulnerable in Malawi and ensuring that those affected by humanitarian crises and development gaps have access to the fundamental rights of life, including but not limited to adequate shelter, food, water and sanitation, healthcare, a credible justice system and education".
IDI's mission is to reduce needless suffering and enhance a sustainable improved social economic livelihood of the most vulnerable people in Malawi. It aims at responding pragmatically and with unflinching passion to the debasing social challenges and needs of the less privileged in Malawi. The NGO implements creative and evidence based humanitarian and development projects aimed at eradicating poverty and suffering. The main building blocks are: Objectivity, Neutrality, Involvement (of beneficiaries), Non-discrimination, free and direct access, Professionalism, Transparency and Accountability. IDI has worked tirelessly, and employed unprecedented measures in contributing to the exposure and suggesting the best methods to eradicate corruption of the magnitude as the infamous Cashgate Scandal at community level. At CONGOMA, IDI chairs the Anti-Corruption and Integrity Committee.
