Short description:
NTDS is a Community based organization, Non-Religious, Non-political, voluntary and not for profit organization.
Its overall objective is to improve human rights of and strive to achieve quality physical, psychological, social, economic, spiritual and health care services for people with hearing disability in Tanzania.
The vision is “A Tanzania where deaf people are empowered to realize their human rights and engage in change process that enhance their quality of life”.
The mission is to empower citizens with hearing disability through the provision of vocational training, HIV/AIDS prevention and counseling methods, anti-corruption activities and drug use prevention methods by using sign language.
So far, the organization has succeed in making discussion on democracy, transparency and community participation on Good Government accountability, has educated deaf people on the impact of drug abuse and has undertaken awareness raising activities, anti-corruption strategies.
