Short description:
The National Council of German Women´s Organizations is a network of comprehensive experience and expertise in promoting women´s rights. It represents about 11 million women in Germany in 57 nationwide organizations. The organization´s aims are to achieve gender equality, equal opportunities and equal status for women and men. This includes our fight against violence against women, violence against migrant women and domestic violence against women and children. Beyond this, it is important for the organization, that all measures are committed to the principle of gender mainstreaming, as formulated by the Beijing Platform for Action. Further aims are the promotion of democracy, peace, tolerance, international understanding and international cooperation.
