Short description:
EFUS is a European network of 300 local authorities, serving as a think-tank and a place for dialogue and discussion. Its objective is to strengthen crime reduction policies while ensuring respect for human rights in the implementation of safety. It provides opportunities for the exchange of positive experiences, on the basis of inter-city cooperation. This helps to stimulate and orient policies at a local, national and community level, in the areas of prevention of urban insecurity and crime management, with a view to the progressive development of an international approach. The Efus is led by an Executive Committee of 28 cities, elected annually by the member cities of the Forum, presided by Guilherme PINTO, Mayor of Matosinhos, and vice presided by Bela DANIELISZ, President of the General Assembly of the Committee for Public Order and Safety of Budapest (Hungary), Franco CORRADINI, Deputy Mayor of Reggio Emilia (Italy), Gilles NICOLAS, Deputy Mayor of Nantes (France), and Erich MARKS, Chief Executive of LPR (Germany).
