The UK Government and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime  (UNODC) signed an agreement today regarding the UK contribution of GBP  3.6 million, in support of UNODC’s Country Programme. The Additional  Inspector General of the Police of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Khalid Masood  was also present to witness the signing of the three-year agreement  between the Deputy High Commissioner of the United Kingdom, Ms. Alison  Blake, and UNODC Representative Mr. Jeremy Douglas.</description><guid>http://www.unodc.org/pakistan/en/press-release_-uk-government-contributes-gbp-3.6-million-to-unodcs-border-management-programme.html</guid></item><item><pubDate>Thu, 08 Nov 2012 3:15:00 AM CET</pubDate><title>Press Release: UNODC launches treatment protocols for drug use in Pakistan</title><link>http://www.unodc.org/pakistan/en/press-release_-unodc-launches-treatment-protocols-for-drug-use-in-pakistan.html</link><description>9 November 2012 - In order to standardize and enhance the delivery of  drug treatment and rehabilitation services in Pakistan, UNODC has  launched a publication entitled &#034;Treatment Protocols for Drug Use&#034;,  which was produced in collaboration with the Ministry of Narcotics  Control and with technical support from the University of Adelaide  (Australia), a World Health Organization (WHO) collaborating centre.
Pakistan is part of the UNODC/WHO global project on drug  treatment and rehabilitation, which is aimed at enhancing the capacity  of drug treatment professionals based on the treatment protocols.  Following extensive review by experts, these protocols have been  endorsed by the Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi, where the  launch took place. The Netherlands Government and the United Nations Office on  Drugs and Crime (UNODC) signed an agreement today regarding the  Netherlands&#039; contribution of USD 2.5 million in support of the Law  Enforcement and Criminal Justice programme in Balochistan.  The  agreement of 3 years was signed in the presence of the Inspector General  of the Police of Balochistan by the country representative of UNODC,  Mr. Jeremy Douglas, and by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the  Netherlands, H.E.
