Brief Description
This project aims to support capacity development in law enforcement agencies in Pakistan to counter criminal activity through the introduction of a computer-based training programme. The programme will comprise 180 hours of computer-based, interactive multimedia instruction, in Urdu, in subjects relevant to the responsibilities of law enforcement officers. The project will also provide training for CBT Training Managers in each participating agency and equipment for training centres.
Objective: Immediate objective is to develop and implement a law enforcement training system on a sustainable basis, through the development and introduction of a comprehensive computer-based training programme in Urdu.
Output 1:
A comprehensive law enforcement-training course adapted to meet the legal, procedural, linguistic and social conditions of Pakistan, that supports, enhances and links with overall drug control and crime prevention strategies in the country.
Output 2:
UNODC will train Site Managers and Training Managers for designated dedicated CBT training centres in each participating agency to support CBT trainees throughout the learning process
Output 3:
Additional computers and associated equipment capable of running the training programme provided and installed in the dedicated CBT training centres of each participating agency (subject to prioritized needs assessment and available funding).
Output 4:
Capacity building and training for medical practitioners and service providers from governmental and civil society organizations, in provision of gender- sensitive services to female injecting drug users and spouses of male injecting drug users.
Output 5:
UNODC will develop and conduct capacity building and information sharing mechanisms for Training Managers during the final roll-out of the project, in order to facilitate effective project implementation.
