Brief Description
The objective of this project is to help reduce transnational organized crime on Pakistan's borders with Afghanistan and Iran. The project will pursue this objective by strengthening capacity of Pakistani agencies charged with management of those borders, supporting improved coordination and collaboration between those agencies, and promoting and supporting cross-border cooperation between Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iran. The project will support the UNODC 'Triangular Cooperation' initiative to develop regional cooperation to address narcotics trafficking and other transnational organized crime. The project design is consonant with the recommendations of the Paris Pact Roundtable Meeting held in Islamabad in March 2005, with UNODC's Strategic Programme Framework for Pakistan 2007-2010, with UNODC's assistance strategy for West and Central Asia and with the conclusions of the Ministerial Level Meeting of Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and UNODC held in Vienna on 12 June 2007 to discuss regional cooperation.

Operational capabilities of Pakistani law enforcement agencies at selected locations strengthened
Output 2:
Strengthened cooperation between Pakistani law enforcement agencies.
Output 3:
Trilateral cooperation between Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan in drug and crime control established
Output 4:
Cross-border cooperation to maximize interdiction capacities on Pakistan's borders with Afghanistan and Iran established.
