Workshop on Implementation of Article 9 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on Public Procurement in Small Island Developing States (SIDS)
From 17 to 19 July 2013, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, in collaboration with the Regional Anti-Corruption Academy for Central America and the Caribbean in Panama (ARAC), facilitated the workshop "Implementation of Article 9 of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on Public Procurement in Small Island Developing States".
The overall objective of this workshop was to facilitate the exchange of experiences and best practices among Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in the Caribbean and contribute to the upcoming UNODC publication on Public Procurement in SIDS. The islands of Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago participated in the workshop, and the Caribbean Procurement Institute was also represented.
The workshop was conducted by Ms. Claudia Sayago, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Officer (UNODC Vienna) and Mr. Edward John Blunt, UNODC Expert Consultant on Public Procurement.
