UNODC ROPAN presents Penitentiary Training Academy with New Vehicle


In the framework of the Project PANX12 - "Supporting Penitentiary Reform in Panama" carried out by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime for Central America and the Caribbean (UNODC ROPAN), officially presented the Ministry of Government with a Nissan Urvancon vehicle, with a capacity of 15 passengers, for the specific use of the Penitentiary Training Academy (AFP according to its acronym in Spanish). The presentation of the vehicle is another example of UNODC's commitment to support effective and sustainable penitentiary reform in Panama.

The ceremony took place at the UNODC Regional Office in Panama on 19 July 2013, with the participation of the Regional Representative of UNODC ROPAN, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Government, Authorities from the United States Embassy in Panama, the Director General of the Penitentiary System, the Coordinator of PANX12, the Director of the AFP, and other penitentiary officials.
