The International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS) visits the General Office of the Prison System of Panama, with the support of UNODC ROPAN and the British Embassy
On 25 March 2013, Professor Peter Bennett of the International Centre for Prison Studies (ICPS) based in London, England, visited the General Office of the Prison System of Panama, in cooperation with the British Embassy in Panama.
The main purpose of the visit is to strengthen ties between the International Centre for Prison Studies, the University of Essex, and the General Office of the Prison System of Panama.
Within the framework of this visit UNODC ROPAN took the opportunity to present the achievements made through its Project "Supporting Prison Reform in Panama" which is being implemented since October 2010. In the same context, Professor Bennett will meet with authorities and technical staff of the General Office of the Prison System of Panama, and will also visit the Penitentiary Training Academy and some of the country's prisons.
