The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the Global Compact Network India are organising a 'National Consultation on Transparency and Anti-Corruption Measures in Procurement in India' on 18th & 19th April 2012 at the Claridges Hotel, New Delhi.
India ratified the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) in May 2011, laying the basis for a firm commitment to strengthen adherence to this first universal, legally binding instrument against corruption. In light of this, the consultation aims to bring up major issues of concern, challenges and recommendations to enhance transparency and anti-corruption measures in procurement in India, in line with the UNCAC and in light of the pending Public Procurement Bill 2012.
The consultation invites participation from the Government, public and private sector organizations and civil society.
