Mizoram - The North East of India: The Red ribbon inter-state football tournament among the youth to promote prevention of HIV and drug use

As part of a multimedia campaign, the Government of Mizoram, National AIDS Control Organisation, Mizoram State AIDS Control Society and UNODC are supporting the Red ribbon football tournament in Mizoram. The aim is to raise awareness on drug driven HIV and AIDS and a theme song is composed for the tournament as well. The campaign tournament kick started on 25 January 2010 with 4000 players in total and 116 matches that will be played during the knock out rounds. The much anticipated final mega match will be played in a packed stadium in Aizawl on 19 February 2010! The Chief Minister of Mizoram and the Joint Secretary of NACO are expected to be there in addition to UNODC Representatives.
