India: ‘Training of Trainers’ workshop on working with spouses and female sex partners of male injecting drug users (IDUs)

UNODC in collaboration with National AIDS Control Programme, India, developed a training module, which aims at building capacities of service providers to reach out to female drug users and female sex partners of male IDUs and ensure that HIV prevention efforts for them are tailored to the epidemiologic and socio-cultural realities and the specific needs of women. Based on the module, UNODC is organizing a 'Training of Trainers' workshop from 22nd to 24th June 2011 in New Delhi at the Hotel Cosy Grand. Representatives from the State AIDS Control Societies (SACS), State Training and Resource Centres (STRCs), Technical Support Units (TSUs) and NGO networks from the states of Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand will participate in the training.
