Third national training programme on drug law enforcement in Bhutan

Under the UNODC project on "Strengthening drug law enforcement capacities in South Asia" , the third round of national training programmes on drug law enforcement will be conducted in Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The first of these training series is to take place at Paro in Bhutan from 11 to 13 May 2010.
Over 25 officers from the department of Customs, Police, Immigration, Airport authority and Bhutan Food and Agriculture Regulatory Authority (BAFRA) are likely to participate. The programme comprises of 15 sessions covering various aspects of drug law enforcement such as intelligence collection, investigation including special investigation techniques, profiling techniques, precursor control, assets forfeiture and money laundering besides domestic laws and procedures.
