General Secretariat of Mental Health,  Air Port Hospital, Egypt

Governmental institution dedicated to the provision of drug dependence treatment and rehabilitation including inpatient psychiatric hospital, outpatient mental health care centre and primary health care services.

The objectives of the organization are: 

  • To serve as a leading teaching centre for medical students
  • To provide continuous education to the staff working on drug treatment and rehabilitation services
  • To develop research and development in order to generate knowledge about drugs consumption and treatment alternatives

Residential care services are provided at the Hospital inpatient unit. The hospital also provides outpatient care, social services and hotline services.

Detoxification (CBT-relapse prevention strategy group as well as individual therapies and aftercare.

Services provided include outreach, detoxification, agonist maintenance therapy, counseling and family relapse prevention, rehabilitation and vocational training. Family support, after care, self help groups, psychotherapy

Motivational interviewing - antagonist therapy  

Participation on the network will allow exchange of expertise-admitting the best practices-improving training of staff so as to function as trainers (TOT) to all service settings in the country.
