On 8 November, UNODC, in the framework of its International Network of Drug Dependence Treatment and Rehabilitation Resource Centres (Treatnet), organized in collaboration with the Provincial Health Department of Banteay Meanche, the first ever capacity-building workshop on community-based drug dependence treatment. Through Treatnet, UNODC promotes diversified and quality drug dependence treatment and care services, including HIV/AIDS prevention and care. Read more.
March 2010 - Quality Standards Meeting
This meeting took place from 22-25 March 2010 in Mombasa, Kenya. Quality Standards are being developed and implemented by all the treatment centers in Treatnet countries.The UNODC HQ team, the Regional Quality Standards consultant, the Global Quality standards consultant and the Evaluation consultant participated.
March 2010 - Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna
The Fifty-third session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs took place in Vienna between 8 - 12 March 2010 . UNODC and WHO jointly hosted a side event to testify to the progress of the Joint OFID-UNODC programme to prevent HIV/AIDS through Treatnet. Conference delegations from Treatnet countries were invited to participate in this event.
February 2010 - Donor Conference for the UNODC-WHO Joint programme on Drug Dependence Treatment and Care
This initiative aims to scale up drug dependence treatment and care in low- and middle-income countries, both from a public health and human rights perspective, as well as to generate voluntary contributions in support of the UNODC-WHO Joint Programme on Drug Dependence Treatment and Care.
