(WHO 2009) Guidelines for the Psychosocially Assisted Pharmacological Treatment of Opioid Dependence
These guidelines were developed in response to a resolution from the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which invited the World Health Organization (WHO), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), "to develop and publish minimum requirements and international guidelines on psychosocially assisted pharmacological treatment of persons dependent on opioids".

The guides are intended to be a companion resource to the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Office on Drug Control (UNODC) and European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) workbook series on the evaluation of costs and effects of treatment for substance use disorders.
