At its 1837th meeting, on 28 July 1972, the Council elected the following fourteen States to the Commission on Narcotic Drugs; Federal Republic of Germany, Hungary, India, Kenya, Pakistan, Sweden and Thailand for a term of office of three years, beginning on 1 January 1973; and Australia, Chile, Egypt, Indonesia, Mexico, Morocco and Romania for a term of office of one year, beginning on 1 January 1973. The composition of the Commission in 1973 will therefore be as follows:
