UN agencies, Inter-Governmental Organizations and International Financial Institutions

In terms of funding, UNODC has partnered with 7 UN agencies in 2007, including UNAIDS, UNICEF, UNDP, UNDEF, UNOPS, UN Trust Fund for Human Security and the UN Mine Action Service. In 2007, six per cent of the total volumre of voluntary contributions was provided by this group of donors.

The largest contribution was obtained from UNAIDS. As a co-sponsor of UNAIDS, UNODC looks specifically at the connection between HIV/AIDS and injecting drug use, prison settings, and human trafficking. Coordination efforts at the country and regional levels with UNAIDS and its other co-sponsor agencies have been launched.

From Inter-Governmental Organizations (IGOs), the OSCE, the NATO Russian Council and the Organization of American States have provided funding for drug control activities in Colombia, a training manual on anti-money laundering, and counter narcotics training in Afghanistan.

Consultations with several International Financial INstitutions (IFIs) are an ongoing process. In 2007, a funding agreement could be concluded with the Inter-American Development Bank for a project on alternative development in Colombia.
