CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FOR NGOS IN AFRICA
This is a call for application for NGOs in Africa to participate in a Multi-stakeholder workshop on the United Nations Convention against Corruption and its Review Mechanism
The call for applications for NGOs in Africa is now open and the deadline to apply is 6 February 2019. The Workshop will take place on 8 - 12 April 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The workshop is designed to deliver particular learning objectives in an interactive manner for civil society organizations (CSOs) together with respective governmental focal points as well as other stakeholders. It will include plenary sessions, interactive exercises and practical applications based on mock scenarios to provide concrete learning opportunities for participants. The overall objective of the training is to equip participants with the substantive expertise in UNCAC provisions, to inform them about the methodology for country reviews, to build their capacity to work with the private sector, and to replicate the training at national, regional and local level.

What are the eligibility criteria and requirements? |
The mandatory requirements for eligibility are the following: Only Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) based in Africa can apply (priority will be given to CSOs from Angola, Chad, Congo Brazaville, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principle, Seyshelles, Uganda, and Zambia). CSOs are defined as not-for-profit organizations including Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), community groups, trade unions, indigenous groups, charitable organizations, faith-based organizations, professional associations and foundations. Businesses are not included in this category. Only one representative per organization can apply. UNODC will sponsor his/her participation.
Priority will be given to: Organizations and representatives with experience in conducting monitoring, legal analysis, drafting reports, working with the private sector, and advocacy. The organization's potential to make useful contributions to the review process and follow-up activities will be taken into consideration; Other elements such as geographical balance across the continent, diverse ideological and professional backgrounds; gender, ethnic and social diversity will also be considered in the final selection of participants. |

When and Where is the Workshop? |
The workshop will take place on 8 - 12 April 2019 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Exact location is TBC. A detailed agenda will be shared with the selected participants closer to the workshop date. |
